5 years after Cipher's second defeat, Orre is steadily reaching the state of other regions. Wild Pokémon are becoming more common, routes allow for easier travel, and Orre now boasts an official League. With Cipher gone, an aspiring young trainer such as yourself can look forward to a relatively calm journey as you try to beat the champ, right?
Fuck no, you can't. Not long after you get your first badge from Justy, you find yourself working alongside him to run some goons out of town. Only just too late to offer aid is Wes, who thinks it would be a good idea to bring you into the loop: Cipher's had plans for a puppet League for a long time, and this has played right into their hands. If they couldn't get an agent in as a town's leader, they made sure they could blackmail or threaten whoever did get in. The Elite Four is made up of admins past and present. The supposed Champion, Eldes, is none other than Ardos in disguise. They're well on their way to returning to the behind-the-scenes power that they had before Wes made his stand, with the new bonus of having the League as a public face.
While Wes and Michael gather enough evidence to completely take down the League, they want you to poke the hornet's nest. You'll travel from town to town, using each victory as a way to reduce Cipher's influence or provoke them into doing something that could add to the case against them–all with the appearance of a trainer on the ordinary journey you thought you were setting out on.
