Yes, I think that stat immunities will probably wind up cut in the long run. I was mostly tooling around with ways to factor in resistance to statuses, and the statline seemed the easiest (read: laziest) way to do that. May be a better approach to stick with Abilities being a good way to filter status, so it's more readily apparent why that Blissey didn't get Burnt or Paralyzed.
As for learning curve, we have an entire game to teach the player. I have no delusions that for some reason anyone would want to make a battle sim for my hack, so I think I'm fine making some changes so long as I introduce them in a paced manner, and clearly.
