As seen in the sketch, you arrive at a small dock with some small fishing boats, and then you climb a big-ass stairs to really sell the height of the cliff. The town itself consists pretty much of a bunch of squares with one or two houses at varying heights, connected with stairs. Imagine that they just put houses wherever they could fit one, all on different levels, and then tried to connect them with stairs.
One of the older towns in the region, some people gathered on these cliffs a long time ago to brave the harsh climate, rough ocean winds and steep cliffs in order to grow stronger in both body and spirit. As more people gathered to train, the town was formed and the gym established. There's a big tree at the top of the town decorated with many flags, which is said to be the place where the first settlers of Staccato first gathered to meditate.
Townsfolk spend their free time practicing martial arts and meditation at the gym. The younger men and women are mostly fishers, sailing the nearby waters for food. The older women can often be found in the town square, sewing various kinds of flags and rugs to decorate the town and homes. These are kind of like good luck charms and wish for good weather, plentiful haul for the fishermen, protection from erosion etc. Because the harsh winds often end up ripping or blowing away some of the flags, they are pretty much constantly at work, but this gives them plenty of time to do some gossiping with the other women in town. Kids often challenge each other to dive off the cliffs into the ocean, which is considered a rite of passage into adulthood.
