They're easy to care for, don't mind being handled, rarely bite and are so cute. It's still gonna be a while until I get him as I decided to create a living vivarium with actual plants, custodian insects and a drainage basin etc. It's been a really fun project and I've thoroughly enjoyed sketching out designs for his tank and reading up on how to care for them.
Now I'm not actually the gecko salesman I may appear to be. But my point is find something you really love and focus on that. You say you don't have friends, well joining a community around a shared interest can be a great way to meet people as well. I'm already thinking of going to some reptile shows and trying to meet some people who don't mind being emailed my questions haha
