Seasons were carefully crafted within the areas so it feels like your journey lasted a whole year, instead of you finishing the journey within one same season like in Gen 5

Kalos had seasons too, but tied to locations (so it seems like your journey takes a whole year)
Alola didn't need season because it's tropical
Galar has no excuse but SwoShit were lazy games

The way it did seasons was an improvement compared to Unova, but felt kinda retarded when backtracking.

Best way would be to have new seasons triggered at several given points of the journey, but with the entire map being updated to the new season when you reach said points.

Reminder that the different biomes in Kalos were meant to mimic seasons passing as you go further in your journey.
And reminder that it still makes more sense than the Gen 5, as most people finish the game within one real life month and thus witnessed only one season before post-game in Unova.

Reminder that the "biomes" in Kalos were supposed to replicate seasons (and make your journey seem a year long (instead of all of it taking place in the same season like in Gen 5)

In Unova, seasons changed in one month of real life
Basically, it means that you'd complete your whole journey across the region within one same season, and only see the changes during the post-game

In Kalos, there were no official "seasons", but the biomes you came across were designed to make it look like seasons were changing through your journey
It's nice because it makes your journey seem longer, but it's retarded as fuck if you decide to backtrack and during the post-game
