>>54929389>but I think everybody still can't exactly put their tongue on why they don't like it.I can elaborate exactly on why I don't like it. Gen 5 gives the player virtually no agency. It's effectively an idle game where you do nothing but stare at the screen while mashing A at the piss easy trainers and walking down the single path NPCs force you into. I get to Castelia City in BW2 and I can't go north because it's blocked by NPCs. I can't go to the bridge because it's blocked by NPCs. I can't go to the sewer because it's blocked by NPCs. I have to go talk to Iris specifically so she can lead me to the sewer and THEN I can start it. The game doesn't trust the player's intelligence at all and basically the entire game is like this. And then the optional content is also barebones as well. White Treehollow is just a watered down version of the Battle Pyramid with no replayability. The PWT is just a watered down version of the Battle Dome with no challenge. There's no trainer customization. There's no super training. There's no amie. There's no contests or pokeathlon equivalent. There's no secret bases. The rest of the routes that were pointlessly locked off during the campaign just have nothing but more mashing A at meaningless trainers then you never have a reason to visit the routes again. The entire game has this feeling that none of your choices really matter because the difficulty is so non-existent you can beat basically anything, including the postgame facilities with any Pokemon and the map design gives you almost no choices to explore different paths. And this isn't even getting into the story that pretends like it wants you to take it seriously yet still has everyone except N act like complete clowns, like when none of them know what a Dragonite is, or when they hide in a freezer for literally no fucking reason, or when they abuse a Pokemon in public 10 minutes into the game instead of simply catching one. It's shit.
