>>52277839Pokemon has had aliens since gen 1, ancient ruins of lost civilizations with advanced tech since gen 1 anime/gen 2 games, has had "there are ancient powerful things that man should not tamper with" since gen 1, going full Lovecraft in gen 3 when a cult summons a gargantuan beast of immense power older than the world that was sleeping at the bottom of the ocean because they think they can control it who proceeds to disregard them and end the world, not to mention an even more explicit alien. And time travel since gen 2, which honestly, makes SVs time machine kind of silly when there's one in every Johto Pokemon center, unless Mega timeline never invented it because it wasn't present in HGSS.
Honestly, if Disk works like people in this thread says it does, I'm not even sure what the difference is between that and the Unown swarm from the 3rd movie, complete with making a Ho-oh dog from scratch.
The only thing weird is ALTERNATE timelines, rather than closed loops where any interference is already accounted for in the present being the way it is. And alternate worlds, presumably as a result of those timelines.
There's a case to be made those appeared as early as Dream World, if that's what that is, and Pokemon's dreams somehow link different timelines Homestuck style. Otherwise those Pokemon are literally being pulled from the mindscape ex nihilum and that's even weirder.
But most certainly it's existed since ORAS delta episode, such that by the time we're visiting them in USUM (aided by the same professor no less, more proof dream world is actually an ultra space dimension) then it's not terribly shocking, other than just how different and alien some places in the multiverse can be.
