Something I wonder is, when SOS have finished this will any other fansub groups even bother? It seems to me that most likely SOS is going to be the only option. I can't see other groups dedicating the years required to undertake such a massive project that's already been done by others, regardless of the fact that it's low quality trannyslop as you rightly point out.
If there are any millionaires reading, go contact the PocketMonsters group and ask them how much money they would need to agree to do the whole thing. Short of that, or official subs which are probably never going to happen, I don't see any improvement on the horizon.
