Non-sequitur. Pokemon works differently so different rules also apply. Learning an oppnent's team in advance enables you to hard counter them and there is really nothing they can do to stop a team handcrafted to deal with everything they have.

previous season only had 2 champions participating. Thats THE ONLY way a disspointment like Lance would be in the finals

From our numbers, the player who wins the 'lead Pokemon matchup' wins the match about 72-74% of the time. The % consistently floats around this range. This is quite unbalanced and should be better. It shifts lower for specialty cups, but is fairly consistent for standard league play.

Because we know the lead has such an advantage, we base matchmaking on the lead Pokemon. Players who are on a win streak will be matched into unfavorable leads in order to counteract the win streak. Conversely, if you are on a losing streak, the game will place you into favorable lead matchups. Yes, the algorithm is real. In general, the system tries to drive you to a .500 win rate. At higher levels of play, a smaller player pool makes this goal difficult, so you end up simply matching against players of similar rank after it fails to find a preferred match.

When you reach Rank milestones (Rank 5, 10, 15, 20) matchmaking places you against higher-ranked players, when possible. (Ex: when you hit Rank 10, you will be matched with Rank 14+ players.) Since you advance through these levels regardless of performance* we try to make these levels feel challenging. *[These are the levels that rewards are all the same. Ex: five 1x rare candy rewards, or five encounter rewards.]

A big personal gripe of mine: there are many Niantic employees in the Top 500. They are not necessarily top-skilled players, however. These are colleagues who gift themselves resources & perfect Pokemon (we have the power!), and climb rank playing Master League. While there are not many of these employees, it is still a dishonest practice imho that robs spots from players who would have earned the placements fairly.

The primary reason is that it's kept mostly private; I wouldn't be surprised if TPC doesn't actually know about it yet
I don't actually know who the primary source is; my guess is that it's someone from TV Tokyo because these guys get the magazines and press releases several days in advance sometimes as well; TV Tokyo is the only division(to my knowledge) of the production staff with the reach of all of this stuff as they make the merch and coordinate stuff like that
However, I've heard a few details that seem to contradict this notion; I can't repeat them here or really anywhere because they have people browsing all of this stuff looking for leaks ironically enough

also they constantly drew her with a shadow under her breasts, making them look bigger than what actually are (even in the games artwork), and artists just out proportioned that.

The new gimmick is Primal and Advanced Evolutions(Basically the same as Mega evolutions),
Primal turns a Pokemon into a more primal and savage version of itself, and Advanced turns a Pokemon into a more refined and futuristic version of itself.
Notable Pokemon I know that have such forms are followed:
-Pikachu, Both, Electric/Rock (Caveman themed) and Electric/Steel (Cyborg, metal tail and a visor).
-Lucario, Advanced, Steel/Psychic
-Zoroark, Primal, Dark/Fighting
-Gengar, Advance, Ghost/Normal (Computer virus themed).
-Tyranitar, Both, Rock/Dark and Steel/Dark (Godzilla and Mechagodzilla themed).
-Coalossal, Advance, Steel/Flying (Sleeker, Wind powered themed).

Starters final Evolutions are:

Grass/Fighting, Tarzan Cat
Fire/Ground, Banana Bull
Water/Ice, Bird Captain with Ice rapier

Legendary types are:
Dragon/Fighting and Dragon/Electric.
Third is a green two heads and represents Fate.

The game design and story disagrees with everything you're saying. Gyms are a place for up-and-coming trainers to advance in ranks and ultimately earn the chance to compete in the Pokemon League. It only makes sense that each subsequent gym elevate the challenge to match the trainer until they are finally capable of earning all eight badges needed to compete for the rank of champion.
This is stuff explicitly told to you by the games. It's not a secret, or a mystery, or up for debate, you complete and utter fuck stick.
