>>30083643>cutscenes literally everywhereThere were a shitload of cutscenes in Gen V and gen 4 to some extent, they just were less noticeable because the camera angle didn't change.
>no post gamePeople always say this about every game, and they almost never explain what they really want when they say it aside from HURRR DURR MUH EMERALD BATTLE TOWER. Game freak doesn't redo things. They haven't brought back old mechanics ever. Get fucking used to it. This is a flaw, but it's a flaw with almost every other game in the franchise.
>trials offer zero challenge The gyms have never offered any challenge at all. The "puzzles' they sometimes shoehorned in were mind-bogglingly simple and only served to artificially bloat the time it took to move on. Trials are better than gyms.
>massive handholding where the game tells you exactly where to goI didn't even notice this, honestly. If you didn't know where to go in any other pokemon game, you're straight up retarded. This shouldn't affect your experience of the game because it's so inconsequential and minute.
>no sense of explorationI felt just as much of a sense of exploration as any other game. There were a lot of little branching paths that usually had a cool interaction or worthwhile tm or cool pokemon, and looping around the islands and opening up shortcuts and paths felt great. It felt like Bloodborne exploration on a smaller scale.
>on a fucking island and can only fish in specific spotsI'll contend that this is really fucking weird, but I wouldn't really say it's a bad thing. It's not like you can't fish, you just choose between a few spots instead of a lot of spots.
>muh gen 1 pandering with shitty aloha formsThe alolan forms are fantastic, but I totally agree that the gen 1 pandering needs to fucking stop.
>the pokemon called for helpThis is an amazing mechanic for shiny hunting, ev training, iv breeding, and getting hidden abilities. It's a slight annoyance at worst when progressing through the game.
