Especially since Carracosta requires me not picking Archeops (you can't make me) and Jellicent requires a Surfer to even catch that outright limits your options to Simipour Seismitoad as the only available things to use in the early game. I prefer having this small selection over needing to bloat the fucking dex with horseshit like Golduck, Seaking, Seadra with no Kingdra or Lumineon. Basculin was already a retarded decision to include, but they finally made up for it by giving it at least a decent evolution
Meanwhile, Masuda's game BEFORE BW:
