Right now I remember that. The original magazine endings in general would get either expanded upon or retconned too or maybe I'm just thinking about the RS magazine end, which abruptly cuts off after Sootopolis explodes.

The Wally retcon still drives me a bit nuts. But that also reminds me of how also in RS, Ruby and Sapphire's pokedexes accidentally hit each other and it activates the gen 3 Record Mixing function in one of the weirdest game mechanic shilling moments ever. Then they end up with each other's data. So basically their pokedexes fucked, maybe this is how Pokedex holders reproduce.

Can't imagine the sheer insanity this caused in anyone reading both magazine releases at the same time back then. I actually remember actively following HGSS releases though, if Pt was coming out at the same time I guess I ignored it because I was hearing way more about BW around then. I think. It's been ages

It exists solely to house gen 1-4 pokemon in BW's postgame which is why it was removed in BW2. It's quite possible that there was going to be an old legendary in here but they changed their minds at some point in development.

The fact is that they wont remake bw or any of the 3ds games made afterward because it would force then to make a base game with more mons than swooshit, someting a switch cartridge can’t handle.

BW was actually challenging and most gym leaders had 4 moves. XY was the turning point where they decided the game needed to be for infants.

Level up movesets may as well not exist in SV. You're just gonna use Tms or remind them of moves whenever or teach them any egg move for free.

The enemy trainers in Scarlet uses Level 40 Pokemon with moves that belong in Level 10s. None of the enemies ever act appropriate to their level or use the moves you would have at the same level.

Hattrem for James and Morgrem for Jessie. If Hattrem is to cute to get beat up every other episode, give him a Sizzlipede or a Clobbopus as his main battler. I could see either of them getting am Eiscue or a Cramorant as a comdey relief mon. Jessie could rock a Frosmoth or Cursola as well. Remove Morpeko.

I played it a decade ago but Ghetsis' final temper tantrum trying to kill the player with Kyurem literally happens before this Gym because the Pokemon formula ALWAYS has the final confrontation with the villain before the 8th Gym with the exception being BW, which you probably mistook my post in thinking I was talking about that one. This is why Ash and Misty were such a good duo, Ash would always bite back and it felt like a power struggle between them, stopping Misty from becoming too unlikable in the process too. There was also the bonus of the banter between them usually being pretty entertaining too, with the more slapstick element of the early show enhancing that. Iris just chastises Ash and makes snide remarks, but rarely was there any back and forth, and by the time of BW the slapstick of the show was long neutered, so it's not only frustrating to watch the whole 'you're such a kid' shit, but it's just boring too.
