I just tasted disappointment for half a second looking at the /vp/ catalog and I did not know sight could trigger taste so from that disappointment I will kill a thread to write a story in real time alright here i' goes I want to be the best that evah was to beat all the rest ohhhhhh that's my cause ash get off the lawnmower and get inside for your meatless hamburger delia said mom what is meat ash asked don't worry about it delia said as she closed the backdoor and locked it so I talk with the z button right ash asked aloud ash then pressed the z button a bubble appeared near the microphone attached to the n64 controller in his hand pikachu use thunder to set my house in the kanto region on fire ash said before releasing the z button to make the bubble go over to pikachu who was sleeping but then was woken up by the bubble before rolling over and sleeping again well that was useless let me go see what gary is doing ash said before throwing the n64 behind him cord included before pulling the cord to the lawnmower to start its engine before ash crashed through his fence onto the street these push mowers are really convenient ash said oh i'm already here hi gary's front door ash said to greet the door sure I'll go inside thank you ash said before crashing the push mower through gary's front door and then through his house and then up his stairs into his whole top floor room that was a fun ride ash said as he turned the lawnmower off hey gary I am here to talk to you hey gary where are you ash asked aloud and around only to see no one was home but then delia crashed through the roof and landed in front of ash ok mister time to go eat your meatless hamburger delia yelled but it tastes ash started before being cut off by being half-suplexed by his mom who threw him through the wall towards his house and then lauched herself afterwards as a set of eyes looked back and forth under gary's bed checking to make sure the two left and gary emerged victorious before going
to bed

The characterization aspect was always there, it was a little simplified because they didn't use cutscenes, but I mean, like you clearly understood that Mr. Fuji deeply cared about Pokemon, or that Giovanni was a ruthless tyrant, or that Gary Oak was a jackass.

It was going to be Oak but he refused the invitation as he thought he was past his prime. The entire pokedex thing was a trick to motivate Red and Blue to pursue the gym challenge and fill in the spot in his place. Agatha is also Gary’s grandmother, btw. I received this information through divine providence.

Could've been awesome. Basically expand on the concept of Project Mew, with Goh, Gary, and Horace traveling across the regions, researching and encountering legendary Pokemon and the myths/lore surrounding them, in order to better understand their role in the ecosystem, on top of doing normal Pokemon research, of course. Along the way, they encounter and thwart evil teams, poachers, and other bad guys. And Ash is tagging along because, let's be real, you just know he'd be super excited at the prospect. And for those that would be turned off by what would basically be a sausage fest, there could easily be a rotating cast of female characters ranging from past companions to rangers to researchers and whatnot that collaborate with and sometimes just bump into the boys while they're hopping across regions.

There's just this "coolness" inherent in gen 1 that was never quite touched upon. The anime paints Red as "Ash" who, despite literally one event of saving his pikachu on bike, literally never grows as a person. Other than he is pretty much the most extroverted person ever. Red is silent.

all of RBY is just one INTROVERT dismantling Team Rocket while dominating entirely through his actions. Contrast this with BLUE. Blue is pretty much every incel/mad lad/ douchebag you've ever known. He never rises to the occasion and blames everybody but himself. While he isn't perfect, it's fairly obvious, that BLUE/GARY has it all compared to RED. He has a sister, a renowned grandfather and...no parents? He wants to prove everything and is ultimately jealous you still have your mother, but no father? Why is this never expanded upon?

Oh yeah childrens game. sorry. I just felt like BLUE's attitude vs RED's teached you a lot about how some people are so insecure and that its infinitely better to be a person who speaks by action. That's what POCKET MONSTERS is to me. I always treasured the manga's style, but red is silent. Which is a difficult manga to make.

Down to Gold/Silver, Red's weight is felt through his silence, after being defeated and becoming champion, he just leaves.

POKEMON is about growing up and learning to deal with the way the world works, and even if you must ultimately battle your lesser animal friends to death, you can still make moral decisions. Maybe after becoming champion, Red just releases his pokemon back into the wild or something, fully encompassing a deeper lesson. Even though you manage to always be ONE GYM BEHIND GARY, the only theory I have is this:

The guy that calls you champ in the making?
That's your dad who left keeping an eye on you.

Well, i havent played it, but from what i know, it uses pokemon go-styled mechanics to catch pokemons, it lacks firered stuff like sevii islands and the vs seeker, your rival is the typical modern nice rival instead of gary, and that its very easy compared to rgby and frlg. I dont think i'd have much fun with it if i played it but idk

Quick Fire Ash trivia gary had the sprite of Blue for a very long time before this so thats something to know.
