Arven's kit is absolute dogshit, they aren't shilling him and they're not hiding his kit from being garbage compared to every other fire unit. He is purely a "pull if you like him". Real shilling is how they handle characters like Leon, Red, Lillie, Cynthia, and anni pairings. There was nothing overdone about him in the story event and his side came off as a very considerate person who can enjoy a holiday even without a family around, and the only thing overdone was ONE AGAIN Gladio and Lillie shoving their family dynamic down everyones damn throats. I would not be surprised if you were immediately pissed off when the datamine showed Arven was getting the christmas alt and thats what this is all about. If it was a character you like, and the event was them being a third wheel to the Lillie family sitcom, you would not be flailing around like this.
