I didn't used to like Hydreigon that much either until I played PMD Doors to Infinity. Actually, PMD in general has warmed me up to a lot of pokemon I didn't like that much before.

Anyway, I don't think there's pokemon that I love but hate their evolutions. There's definitely pokemon that I love where I like the evolution less, but it's not hate.

It's mostly the colors. The flame design on it's midsection and the sudden addition of pink just looks weird to me.

Palpitoad got real ugly real quick. I still mained a Seismitoad through gen 5 but I can't stand the bulbs on it's back. They remind me of those gross frogs that carry their young in their backs.

Most designs grow on me over time, but this one just looks stupid. It and Keldeo are two of the only designs I straight-up dislike.

I like chickens and birds. I LOVE Torchic and Combus but hate Blaziken.
Cyndaquil was my first choice when I originally played Gold back in the day, Quilava was a bro but I reset my game when I saw Typhlosion and picked Chik.

Fennekin starts out as my favorite looking starter (among Froakie/Chespin) but I hate the turn from cutemon to feminized anthromorph.

I like Tepig, almost picked him until I saw what he turned into.

So that's several generations of fire starter types that I think have terrible final evolutions.

I hate snakes, I think Snivy is cool and love him, but I hate Serperior as he creeps me the fuck out.

Greninja is the opposite for me. I like the final evolution and Frogadier, but I think Froakie looks stupid.

The evolutions for Magmar and Electabuzz are a hot mess in general to be honest. I mean, Electrivire to some degree I can understand, since Electabuzz had a primate look going for it, but Magmortar is straight up a graphic designer's nightmare.

I really really REALLY like Hoothoot's stylized design, what with the clock motif and how it's just a borb with nubs for wings that stands on one leg. Noctowl is just an ordinary owl, and while that's certainly not necessarily a "bad" thing, it makes me said everything good about Hoothoot wasn't kept for the evo.

That's really the whole thing about this thread, isn't it? There are waaaaay too many evolutions out there that drop the best parts about the previous stage.

Yeah, kind of discarded most of the cool stuff about Chinchou. Probably the most disappointed I've ever been by an evo of a Pokemon I was training blind. Chinchou also is my favorite Electric type.

Love Surskit, Masquerain was my least favorite mon till Aromatisse came around.
Love Litten and Torracat, and it’s not that I hate Incineroar, but I wish it could’ve remained quadruped.
Duskull is really cute but it’s evos alienate me.
Same with Stufful, Bewear is an abomination.
Love Floette but Florges does nothing for me.
I like Naganadel but Poipole was just way too adorable and I wish it’s evo at least had something resembling a face. And that they were normal mons so I could use them in my in-game team.

Besides Dewott, Chespin is the most notable one for me. Qualladin is godawful and Chesnaught is bland. Torracat, Sliggoo, and Spritzee also stand out and evolve into something terrible each. I like Timburr considerably more than Gurdurr and Conk, too. I dislike baby pokemon in general but Mr. Mime and Jynx were always atrocities, so their prevos are actually improvements.

I can think of others where I prefer an earlier stage but don't dislike the later stage, like Phantump and Dragonair.
