>You literally teleport from the 7th gym to the 8th gymNo, you don't. After Gym 7, an plot thread intervenes, requiring you to run from Spikemuth through a dumb tunnel in what effectively amounts to nothing. Hammerlocke is immediately adjacent to the route that you're spat out in, and whether you try to fast travel there is entirely up to you.
>The Wild Area is gatelocked so its ends up being linear, tooThe Wild Area is only gatelocked in one spot: the Lake of Outrage. The only part of the Wild Area that is tied directly into the game's linear progression is that you can't walk into Hammerlock early. You can wander around almost the whole area starting as early as you want to. A different, but related issue however, is that you can't catch Pokemon whose levels are too high for your number of Gym Badges, which is an understandable restriction to stop you from bulldozing the early game.
Your other points are fine though. The last two gyms aren't particularly interesting in terms of the pre-Gym Leader material. It's worth Raihan's trainers doing double battles though, since that helps get you in gear for battling Raihan himself.
The online is hot garbage, and they want you to pay for a Home premium plan to get good trading.
I didn't play LGPE, but I find peoples' bitching about Pokemon riding to be a bit silly. I do agree that at the very least, Pokemon following seems to have gone backwards.
