So let me get this straight.
You can only be champion of one region. Hence Dande beating Satoshi doesn't count for title tranfership.
Which created ALOLA CHAMPION BEA the first time Ash was defeated as Champion to her.
But then, they eventually tie. Even assuming that no one beat Bea in the meantime, a tie is not enough to gain title ownership.

Perhaps a bigger fan of Koharu can explain... but why exactly does Koharu suddenly care about Pokémon with Eevee? The episode kind of has a love at first sight thing...it doesn’t really explain why she likes or cares about Eevee so much or why it likes her? It’s like after that she went from aloof-deadpan to suddenly liking and caring about Pokémon?

They were so on the nose with her change, one minute in a episode she’s not giving a fuck then suddenly she’s saying how cool she thinks Pokémon are? Does it seem a bit inorganic to anyone? Eevee is meant to be paralleled her but that doesn’t really explain their bond in the show.

If PM2019 get a new ending than it should be like Carnival Phantasm or Durarara ending.
A simply ending with a catchy song that simply shows all the major characters and their pokemon with their notable quirk.

While I think she will catch Ponyta eventually, I'm more skeptical about the "becoming Opal's replacement" thing. I still think Bede will play that role. After all, Sonia still became a professor in the Darkest Day arc, so I'm guessing the anime will still at least partly adapt SwSh's plot.

You must have not watched the anime if you think that Koharu liking Pokemon came out of the blue. Sure she didn't appear every episode, but in the ones she did appear, her liking Pokemon was something that kept being built up. For instance, just watch the first Gengar episode, the Milotic episode, or the Kanto fossils episodes again.

She didn't like the pressure of being compared to him when she didn't know if she wanted to be a Professor and all this pressure made her lose interest in Pokémon.

She has a few scattered appearances before and after this, but JN20 (Orienteering) is significant because while she's disinterested in Pokémon and snarking at Gou throughout, at the end she sees how excited the other children are and she has a moment where she stares at Gou before she points out Farfetch'd to him, effectively helping him catch a Pokémon.

Her next appearance is JN29-31 (Pidove, Pikachu jealousy, Milotic). The Pikachu episode isn't focused on her but Pidove gives us not only a look at her past character (pre-meeting Gou, given her apparent age in the flashbacks) but it shows that despite what she may do on the surface, she's a caring person underneath (her jealousy over Yamper getting attention in the past doesn't stop her from going to look for him, and her annoyance with Yamper's jealousy in the present doesn't stop her from rushing out when Fearow attacks). Milotic continues to build this up, since she wants to help Nami despite still nominally disliking Pokémon (something Gou points out, and she denies it but it's clear she's not being fully honest with her feelings). The episode ends with her saying "Pokémon sure are amazing...", showing that there are some real cracks in her cold ways that made her disinterested before.

Her next major appearance is episode 38 (Aerodactyl) and this one is less about her coming around to liking Pokémon but more her being interested in going on adventures. Ash and Gou literally drag her out but she still has a reason to go - she's struggling with a report at school and she needs some idea of what to do with it. Ash and Gou take her to Pewter City and she writes about fossils, while also seeing Gou bond with Aerodactyl despite being in danger himself. The episode ends with her exclaiming that it was fun to go on the trip with Ash and Gou, showing that it's unlikely she'll have the same reluctance as before.

JN46 (Mewtwo) opens with Koharu almost becoming late for school, listening to her father talk about Pokémon, which serves as a reminder for how far she's come since the beginning when she could care less. 47 (Greedent) shows a kind of condensed version of how she takes to things (at first she doesn't care, but over the course of the episode she becomes more invested in the eating contest and excited to watch it).

JN49 (Eevee) is the culmination of all of these points. She's always been altruistic but it was hidden by her coldness. But now that that's been cracked by Ash and Gou showing her just how cool Pokémon are, when Yamper shows her this Eevee and shows her that it's being targetted, Koharu steps up to protect it, calling Gou to distract them and running off with it.

The real significance of Eevee and the reason that she ends up wanting to keep it though is because Eevee is like her: they both have a lot of paths ahead of them and they're both not sure what they want to do in the future. Koharu catches Eevee as her first Pokémon and vows to walk with Eevee one step at a time as they discover what the future has in store for them.

50 (Galar Fossils) has her follow up on that immediately, getting excused from school (on the condition that she writes a report about her experiences) because Eevee wanted to go see what was happening in Galar after the Pewter Museum Chief told them about it. 52 (Diglett) she goes because Endo the Farmer is a family friend and her father asked her to (and, assumedly, she didn't have school that day since she showed up in her overalls outfit instead of her school uniform). After the experience of helping him out, she shows that she's becoming more like Ash and Gou by mirroring how they acted at the beginning of the episode.

This leads into 55 (Ponyta) being the first time she's independently interested in a Pokémon since sometime before the series began, and she has a solo adventure where she has fun with all the Pokémon in the Glimwood Tangle. It shows just how far this transformation has come, starting with someone who couldn't care less in the current day all the way to someone who has an adventure bonding with Pokémon.

And that's all my autism about her character arc. It's honestly not that difficult to grasp. This is a kid's show after all.

There's really no need to advertise it any more than it already got and we already saw both it and Rapidash in the episode. I think this is just her version of "We'll meet again someday!" that Ash has been doing for 25 or so years.

The Magazine is just trying to sell magazines and merchandise; I dunno if they put out any magazine posters during Sun and Moon, but XY had like, three that were disingenuous to the source material (Serena and Ash never played on Balloons without Bonnie, never dranks fashionable drinks on the ship during Diancie, and Serena never fed Ash and Pikachu donuts directly in Hoopa).

She's hesitant, but she's good natured when it comes down to it. Even early on when she's relatively cold hearted, she's still kind to Gou and tries to help him by bringing his homework or helping him get Farfetch'd. That's a big reason I ship them. She's more thoughtful and reflective than Ash and Gou and tries to act more mature and above it all when take she's just a kid like they are, and it's great to see them rub off on her like that.

I think the most appealing part of her personality and the thing that I like most about her is that there's something of a disconnect between this thoughtful, kindhearted, well-meaning girl and the way she responds to situations with annoyance or disbelief. Whether it's shutting down Ash asking her to get Pokémon with them, pointing out Darmanitan's weird expression, calling the boys out about a snowcone maker or being disgusted about how Impidimp is the Mean Pokémon, she's never hesitant to make her real thoughts known, even if they're not the kindness they can be.

As an aside, I also really like how Ash wasn't instant friends with Gou or Koharu. Gou spent two episodes fighting with him before they made amends and became bros while Koharu was that much slower to warm up to him. It feels more natural that they spend time becoming friends (even Gou and Koharu have to rekindle their friendship somewhat) rather than them instantly becoming impressed with Ash like happened in previous series.

Tomioka really needs to become director again. He's been with the anime since the beginning, his first written episode was "Ash captures Caterpie" the third ep of the whole show, and what he did with DP was great. He also was likely in charge of most of AG before that.

Tomioka has been around all 23 years of the anime and understands the show best.

Megumin (Konosuba) is 14 year old while Tai (Digimon) is 10 year old.

Still this is Pokemon and they'll rarely ever imply that between kids but the trope is there and has precedence so I'd imagine even the writers will pick it up in some soft manner when they need to write both of them off the series.

As I said dozen of time, the most likely reason for any Kids or Shonen anime to canonize any main ship is to make a sequel/epilogue featuring the protagonist's son. However the chief director Yuyama has confirmed that Ash will remain 10 year old for the rest of the show.

The only other reasons for kids anime to include ship are --

-- Comedy : This is important for a children anime and cartoon, even "Avatar : The legend of Aang/Korra" had a lot of comedy despite being more serious and mature. In this case, the anime would need a pretty girl with the funniest dynamic with Ash.

-- Bait : Something to lure people into keep watching the show. Sometime people would watch boring anime for a ship even if the protagonist doesn't end up with anybody. Even I started watching "Gundam Build Fighter Tri" after seeing Fumina Hoshino in the poster. Which is also why I have ignored "Gundam Build Driver" because none of the main girl was near Fumina Hoshino and the protagonist looked really generic.

However both of these doesn't need anipoke to canonized any ship, instead the anime could give Ash a harem that act as a plot device for comedy while baiting people into watching the show.

Considering "Kimetsu No Yaiba" movie broke all record while Gintama final movie earned more money than previous series, anipoke most likely to follow their example. I watched Kimetsu No Yaiba movie and honestly it doesn't seem that special and only feels like a four episode arc. 60% of the movie was focused on fighting while 40% of the movie was the actual plot, Dragonball Broly also did the same thing!

So if Anipoke follow Kimetsu No Yaiba's example than 60% of the next movie will be battling , 40% will the story and canon to the main series. Off course Pokemon can take the same root as Avengers movies where all the movie will be connected though a larger story instead of a stand-alone non-canon movies.

Suppose : The alternate Timeline Ash decides to take on the Galar Gym Challenge and it will be 4 or 5 part movie series showing his journey though Galar.

Tomioka didn't write everything, he is only a head writer who simply joined the director and some executive on the series composition to draft the concept of series. Even than he needed the director's approval to do anything. Series Composition work like this --

-- JN 056 : Ash and Goh will train under Wikstorm
-- JN 057 : Chloe will try to help Chyrsa to get attention of a guy with Psyduck
-- JN 059 : Ash and Goh will encounter a lost Grookey and try to help locate its trainer.

Afterward they decide the storyboard which is visual representation of the episode and later Script Supervisor write the script and screenplay for the episode.

Why do you think that Daiki Tomiaysu went to Yuyama to learn the defination of Pokemon Master if the writer decides the meaning of Pokemon?

Also rating are pointless for TV anime and only merchandise/DVD sales matters!
TV Tokyo listed Boruto and SM series as their most profitable shows despite never appearing in their rating chart.

But to be fair to PM it came after the lowest rated pokemon anime in the series (SM) so it was working at a disadvantage from the start. I think being pulled off the air in the west due to SM's abysmal ratings is a good thing and not having to be in SMs old timeslot where it had to be babysat by Boruto is also helping.

Honestly SM is the only colossal failure in the pokemon anime's history. I chalk it up them trying to chase the yokai watch fad due to the anime and games taking over in japan for a year or so before petering out. and since SM arrived when Yokai watch was already dead they essentially replaced XY with a corpse.

It means they're overseeing the project at every step and get to decide what does and doesn't stay going forward. Literally deciding the overall direction of a production(hence the title "director") in a creative capacity. If they want a thing to happen they can tell the production team to do it. It's pretty much the same for live action film, and there's a reason why the position is so often considered to be so important.

In a production, the director is king. At least until the suits step in.

You were on track until here. Director isn't a creative roll in in animation like it is in film. In film the director works the camera, and thus has to oversee what's going to be on that camera. he can help rewrite the script but he will be given a writing credit for doing so.

In animation there is no camera to work, and so director is almost completely hands off. The writers write the screen play, the supervisors makes sure there's no errors, and then Yajima makes sure it's something feasible within the production time. then it gets sent to boarders, who outline what's going to be drawn. Yajima makes sure it's feasible within production time and then it's sent to animators. the animation director checks for errors, it is then sent to the assistant director's team for voice work and then it's sent to Yajima who then sends it to the executive director to be published.

The position IS important though.

The production staff is split into teams. before it is sent to the next team the director checks to make sure it's quality and feasible.

It REALLY isn't. Like, not at all. A store manager's job is to make sure the store functions, a animation director's job is to make sure the production functions. It's the reason why unlike movie directors animation directors (like store managers) have executive directors above them.

There is a credible source that outright state the director to have final say in all creative decision.

The director in the ringleader who oversee the whole project. He doesn't need to write anything, he simply decides what going to happened in the show. The writers simply write after the director make his decision about the story with the head writer & sometime producer. The writers only writes the dialogue and screenplay but has no control over the overcome of the story because it was already decided during storyboard before the script supervisor even wrote the episode.

Maybe you should making headcanon to protect because "he will get Ash & Serena married" !

Again, the director is there at every step of the process to make sure the entire production has a cohesive direction. They have the power to make creative decisions and often do. There are many anime directors famous for their talent, they don't get that way just for being a glorified tard wrangler for the production staff. They make creative decisions and the famous ones are known for their good direction.

I don't know why you think anime director is "hands off" when a director's fingerprints can be seen all over their work. You don't know what you're talking about and you just want to win an argument on a mongolian basket weaving forum.

This is close to an animation director however you don't need to oversee the entire production when people are drawing and not acting, making sets, and making multiple takes as with movies. An animation director is almost purely administrative

Animation does not have camera work. It's drawings, anon. people who draw decide that. Yajima rarely has story boarding credits. Good direction isn't making the series, it's making sure the series is made efficiently and with quality.

The storyboard is the visual representation the episode, the director works with storyboader to decide what actually going to happen in the episode. The writer job is simply to write script and screenplay based on that idea.

Basically Matsui didn't decide she will write an Amourshipping episode about Serena crossdressing. It was already decided that there going to be an episode about Serena crossdressing as Ash when he get sick and some guy come to challenge him before Matsui simply wrote the script and screenplay of that episode.

Because your entire motivation to defend Yajima is Serena.

Nope, that's producers and writers. A director can veto writers but they cannot veto producers. Just like a store manager can veto an assistant manager but can't veto the store's founder.

The Animation Director :A senior animator who is responsible for checking the key animation for their assigned cuts. They check for quality, consistency, and send anything that needs fixing back for revisions. A single episode may have many animation directors, and an animation director may have assistant animation directors or animation supervisors working with them.

There's an estimated fall that's consistent with trends across the medium (this is why dragonball super was cancelled and they went with a movie instead), then there's SM. SM was such a massive plunge that saddling it to Boruto to get lead in views was necessary to keep it from going into free fall because the target audience was not going to go out of their way to watch SM.

This is bullshit for the most part. Rating wise, SM’s numbers the first couple of years were not that different from XYZ. AG and XY had the biggest drop off from their predecessors. Anyway, ratings don’t actually mean much these days. It is about merchandise sales and both SM and PM have done pretty well in that regard.

A) Yajima never had any real interest in Amour, that guy had no interest in anything that didn't involve Alain or his other self inserted protagonist. He just used Amour to scam shippers like you into supporting him on Internet while killing it at the same time. No, an episode director works closer with the staff on the creative process of an episode since the series director judges episodes in batches because one person going over one episode at a time as they're created would be retarded.

A director is an administrative position. Did he tell all the other senior staff to only pretend to do their jobs while he did everything because he's eeeeeevil?

Producer is not a creative role, they are the actual administrator who handles management of a production, in charge of keeping things moving, everybody working, spending money wisely, hiring, firing, and everything else that goes into making a show (aside from the creative part). The episode director only work for their assigned episode with the director himself. Yajima doesn't write, he decide the direction of the entire series story, that is why he is credited as the director.

The screenplay is written after the storyboard and it based on the screenplay. Yajima didn't had to write anything, he simply took and approved all the creative decision regarding the episode.

The only reason Yajima received any online presence was due to his interview about the kiss scene. You wouldn't care less about him if it wasn't for the kiss. You probably even don't know the name of OS or DP directors without googling.

That wasn't a promotion, that's just a temporaly job that can go to anybody. Real promotion is Daiki Tomiyasu being being the executive director of the show.

Yajima DOESN'T have any online presence. why did you not read that? You do realize both Yajima and Daiki split yuyama's jobs, right? Daiki became executive director of the anime and Yajima became the movies director. Both are promotions.

Ironically, Yuyama stepped down from directing to have a more creative roll. lol.

So if Yajima took all creative direction why not make Ash and Serena kiss again and make all the movies about Alain? He's still a director, he still has the same bosses who didn't stop him from apparently making kissy kissy alain. so does director have all the power or none of it?

They only put him in charge of two Alternative timeline movies, that's hardly a promotion. There is no guarantee that he will be in every movie specially if that Box office performance doesn't become better than XY movies
