>obsessed with the anime and tcg for years but never had a game
>parents had recently bought their first computer ever (yes, in 2004)
>none of us understood how computers worked but my parents were convinced that everyone on the internet was a pedophile who would track down children from chatrooms and kidnap them
>made me terrified of any kind of communication with other people on the internet
>catch my 7th pokemon in leafgreen
>game tells me the pokemon "will be sent to someone's pc"
>think that the game is sending the pokemon to some random pedophile's computer somehow
>freak the fuck out and stop playing pokemon for a couple of weeks
>every time the phone rings I'm sweating bullets because I think it's gonna be someone asking if some kid in our household sent them a pokemon
>express my concerns to my cousin who played pokemon and he laughed in my face
