No way to use its' signature move reliably. 30% burns, but current moveset suggest it's eruption spam: the pokemon and frail as hell. It's almost always better off using Shadow Ball. Why?

Precipiece Blades is shit too btw.
Also, Scald was better than Origin Pulse because the only purpose of a second Water type attack on Kyogre was to clean up weakened foes. Now Kyogre basically gets walled by Wide Guard.

Specs Infernal Parade might be fun in a Toxic Spikes team. And it'll be better option than Hex since it can burn Poison types and Boots users.
No Serene Grace as a hidden ability is lame though. Especially when the other two Hisuian starters abilities complement their signature moves

Just it's stats and the fact that it's a recoilmon. The typing doesn't bother me as much as others, but if it had to change, I would go for Fire or Fire/Dark.
Also, that it's the most unpopular starter pokemon.

Where do you even start for this one? The shallow movepool? Dabbed on by the first 2-3 gyms in home region? The awful hidden ability? Built more tankishly without any of Torterra's uses? Competitively the worst starter out of all of them?

The final form being too bland and similar to Bayleef hurts worst for me, because I never could really appreciate meganium when Bayleef is just better looking overall. Even those who prefer Ivysaur can at least say Venusaur is still well liked by most.

Luvdisc and Unown are both tier staples in DNU.
Which while a meme format full of literal babies still shows that there are things that are way worse.
Caterpie for example can't do anything, although if you're only considering fully evolved pokemon I think you're right.

But the thing that's been bothering me the most is wondering if its hands float or just stick out of its abdomen. I'll always imagine them to be floating and I'll always prefer them to be floating but I HAVE to know what the actual canon is. It just makes more sense to me that they'd float.

It was good in Gen 5 VGC as a Follow Me user with Flame Body.
Things went downhill in Gen 6 as transfer moves weren't allowed and Follow Me Magmar was an XD exclusive.

To be fair, the move might be updated when it comes to SV, since a lot of moves were adjusted in PLA.
Headlong rush is a good example, it’s only 100 BP, but we know it will most likely be bumped to 120 so it can properly compare to moves like Close Combat

it seems like Headlong Rush has already been updated to 120 (since Hariyama is in SV and was given it), You may be right that Infernal Parade could get an update once the Typhlosion's are actually in the game. Game FReak has been slow to update a few things this gen (many Gen IX Pokemon were missing moves at launch, and moves that are coded in are just plain missing).

despite grass/ghost being a cool type conceptually to show that the pokemon is in fact the algae, it's such a crappy typing in gameplay

Espeon's design doesn't really convey her sun-theming and I often forget that's such a core part of her concept. The yellow fur in the beta does a better job of that, but don't get me wrong, the purple looks way better, but in a "cool mysterious psychic cat" sorta way, not a "cat imbued with the power of the sun" way.

He barely even shows up in region dexes despite being Gen 1. 85 speed is great for single player while also painful to deal with in BSS. I feel like the whole point is to go raw power, but he only really works with Scarf or Sash. He's also a fucking manlet (4'07" to be exact). He had some badass looking sprites in Gens 1-3 but looks derpy on 3DS. Finally when he showed up in the game with special kaiju forms, neither he nor his menopausal wife got one.

Espeons are based off of Nekomatas, which are essentially demon/spirit cats, and is evident by its split tail.

Rando factoid though: It's shiny coloration is based on a painting called, 'Radioactive Cats'--essentially a guy hallucinating green cats in a psyche ward.

However I wasn't expecting to see that installation posted (Radioactive Cats is not a painting). Bizarre I did a report on Sandy Skoglund years back and that Espeon is my favorite Pokemon, yet I never drew such an association between that installation and it. I'm having trouble believing that was the inspiration though because aren't pre gen 6 shinies not manually colored except for like Charizard?

He looks pretty nice in SWSH, and he’ll probably look even better if he shows up in SV DLC.

Also the transition from the quills in between his ears to his head is very awkward and hard to make look good. I know it’s supposed to be hair, but the way that it clashes with how every other quill is drawn makes it look more like the quill is just weirdly-shaped and broken.
I don’t actually hate the transition from quill to head, I just hate having to draw it.

Porygon's moveset is a bit lacking, because it can burn enemies with tri attack but no flamethrower, conversion 2 can convert to any type but conversion can't because porygon is lacking attacks from many types, their gimmick is bordeline unusable because neither conversion or conversion 2 are priority moves.

It also doesn't help that ditto got an ability to match it's transform gimmick, while porygon got to watch greninja, cinderace and meowscarada get the ability that matches his move conversion, while legend plate arceus got the ability equivalent to conversion 2.
