How fucking old is this Cilan and his brothers? In the anime he looks and sounds like he's in his 20's but people keep saying he's younger and it's confusing as fuck

He's only a little older than Brock so 16~17 or so.

According to most people everyone in the Pokemon anime looks older than they are. Ash is a teenager, Misty is mid teens, Brock is late teens, the Rockets are in their 30s, etc etc. Dunno if its the art style or fans' burning desire for a Pokémon story centered on old characters. Nintendo ought to take note and make a Pokémon version of the Golden Girls.

Why are we basing it off Brock's age though? Like I get he's supposed to be like Brock with the cooking and map skills but I don't see any other similarities between them so I don't see why they'd have the same age too?
