>>55072826>>55072861As someone with a background in English literature, I have to say the extreme "death of the author" autists in my profession haven't got shit on how much animefags (not just Pokémon, not all animefags) are unable to read characters, stories, and yes, subtext. The president of the Pokémon Company in Japan could tell you all the endgames for every character during a televised press conference, and animefags would still say, "Yeah, but they didn't say it word-for-word during an episode like the characters were reading a press release, so it still doesn't count." It's honestly quite funny imo because it shows that they've never read a good book before.
