Mine were mostly the main focus of the standard prerequisite writing classes, but we were essentially provided some example papers that fit what the professor wanted for the assignment. After that I would just pick the first thing that came to mind and stuck, then I just let my brain flow before going back to add more colorful language. My final paper ended up being about deforestation from an animal's perspective and it ended up being used as an example paper for the following classes.
