The branch was young enough that you couldn't really fully "trust" any of the girls to fully stay the course when it came to homo collabs.
Things are different now. There are ways to signal to the audience about what route you are choosing that is so well known that even supposedly "tainted" girls like Raora can shake off the taint and get a fresh start with the right words.
Ofc the newer the girl, the less trust factor they have, especially when something like this hits the branch (which is why JP girls often reassure their fans about stuff like this during shaky scenarios, except over there it's usually about graduations).
The shakeup is moderate now because there's more CGDCT talents to absorb the shock, the dreaded "homo inclusive" minecraft server or ENReco-type collab never came about, the branch separation has been steadily enforced and most of the CGDCT girls refined their credentials with the post-fes offcollabs.
So this is similar to Mel or Aki going full throated homo collabs after not doing it for a couple of years post-Taiwan.
It will hurt her own fanbase, but other fanbases are far more confident about the direction of the branch, and so shallow shitposts can no longer shake their trust in their oshi (especially those like Biboo or Fuwamoco who have made their stance crystal fucking clear).
As a fanbase, perhaps some of the EN holofags might feel sad for the Novelites, but far more of them will simply mock them for having such a dogshit oshi and staying with her even when she screwed them over like this. There will always be a subtle cloud hanging around Advent fan meetups. The gen collabs themselves can recover the vibe, but the shared values of the branch now rest only among 4 girls, and the fanbase will certainly feel the effects of that shift in vibe.
