>>12211418I mean he's entirely wrong. If you look at the history of virtual idols there's plenty of reasons why hololive is at the top. Specifically being the first to do it (first to be an idol company, compared to others were who just celebrities not part of some idol subculture). It's obvious to anyone why they'd be successful. He implies that somehow it's unwarranted but you're joining a company that gives you all the perks and consequences of doing so. He's acting like joining a big company shouldn't give you benefits or that because the company is picky about who joins it's wrong. That's just retarded.
The only thing he's right in is the entertainment question. A lot of streamers in general aren't even entertaining. I randomly clicked on an XQC stream the other day because I remembered some fag here was like "he's a great entertainer" so I said fuck it maybe I'll see what's up. The nigger was literally sitting there in silence watching gladiator. I bet anyone would be 'entertaining' too if they were just straight up streaming movies for people to watch.
Personally I think streaming is in this awkward spot a lot of times wherein you expect something to happen but sometimes nothing does. It's not like a show. It's not even like radio shows which usually try to organize bits, jokes, and subjects to cover during the time they're on. It's probably why GFE is so dominant in the field of streaming since there's not much else you can do, especially if you're streaming longer than 2 hours at a time.
