J*u from a nice peaceful sleep after the piano stream, her playing managed to put me out for almost 9 hours, one of the most longest sleeps I've had in a while. I've never been so content.
Anyway, it's writing time. Day 23 is Konbini.
Rentry for previous stuff:
https://rentry.org/sggoi>You've just moved in to the new neighbourhood.>You decide to head in to your new home quickly, feeling exhausted from the whole move ordeal.>As you prepare to unwind, you hear a knock at the door.>You answer the door and see a rather strange looking girl.>Two tone hair, golden eyes, a gentle smile.>"Oh, hello, you must be the new neighbour!">She hands you a basket then says: "Think of this as a welcome gift! What's your name?">You introduce yourself to her, and she introduces herself as Shiori,>She then smiles and takes her leave. As she leaves, you sit down on the sofa with the basket.>Opening the basket, you notice that a lot of it is...not what you expected.>A sandwhich with some mold on it, a soda that's expired and a note.>"Welcome to the neighbourhood, sorry if it's gone bad, it's all I had and I tried my best.">You can't tell if there's something odd with her or if she made a mistake, but you're left giggling, just a little bit.>The following day you wake up and check on your refrigerator, nothing new, it's time to stop by the convenience store.>You arrive, grab a shopping cart and start walking.>Then you see her again>This time she's wearing a uniform?>She turns her head and immediately sees you, a smile on her face appears afterwards, as she starts to approach you.>"Oh, hello Anon!">You gaze at her uniform a little, it kinda looks nice on her, but as you catch yourself staring a little too long and shake your head.>You then respond to her: "Hey, work here I assume?">She smiles a little and nods happily.>She then goes back to stocking the shelves but then suddenly she trips over, packages of potato chips splattered on the floor.>"Ah...FRICK, GOSH DARN IT!">Her sudden outburst caused you to suddenly turn around and see her.>She sighs and gets up, whimpering a little.>You ask her if she needs help but she looks at you with a frown and says: "I-I'm good, let me handle it.">She bows in front of you and comes back with a dustpan and broom, sweeping up the mess she's made.>As she gets up, an announcement is made over the intercomm asking for someone to take one of the service counters.>Shiori puts the dustpan and broom away and heads for the counter.>The whole experience had you trying to hold back from laughing, something you managed to pull off miraculously, but now you understand why the welcome basket had a bunch of expired stuff.>You decide to continue your shopping, picking up various groceries and then finally ready to make your purchases and go home.>You stand in line, noticing that Shiori is still there.>As you approach her you place products onto the scanner.>"Ehhh Anon you're buying so much! You can just come over and I can make you something if you'd like!">While the offer does sound tempting, your thoughts go back to the welcome basket she gave you, what if there's other expired and possibly molding food awaiting you if you accepted that.>Shaking your head, you give her a gentle smile and decline.>She pouts just a little, enough for you to notice, then continues scanning your items.>Suddenly the scanner begins to scan your items more than once, Shiori is panicking: "Oh nonono PLEASE STOP THIS! FRICK!">Another mess up in-front of you, this time you can't tell if you're cursing her or if she's just unlucky in general.>Her manager comes in, trying to reassure her that it's fine. As her manager takes over, she apologizes to you and corrects the mistakes that were made with your purchases.>You manage to catch Shiori walking out of the convenience store in the corner of your eye, her shoulders noticeably slumped.>Some form of pity takes over you, and as you walk out of the store, you stop by next to her and ask her, with a tone filled with a mix of pity but also a hint of curiousity.>"Hey, do you wanna come over for dinner? It'll probably cheer you up.">She looks at you and sighs a little, instead asking you: "Can you come over instead? My cats are super clingy around night time.">You gently pat her back, your concern for her clearly growing, and so you accept, looks like you're getting to know your neighbour just a little bit more.>She looks at her phone, checking the time. >You happen to notice her wallpaper depicting what seemed to be her in a gothic black dress taking up a pose. Perhaps she liked to dress up on the weekends?>Before you can ask her about it, you suddenly hear her say: "Ah! Sorry anon I gotta continue my shift now! See you tonight!">With that she rushes back in, and you leave with a little smile on your face.>But as you leave, you hear a rather large crash, and the sounds of a girl yelling out, trying to stop herself from cursing.
