I just had an epiphany why Kiara attracts so many antis and people who criticize her, why she rubs so many people the wrong way and why she still doesn't get many viewers compared to other ENs, even after all these years. It sounds really stupid and simple to say this but I'm convinced it's the truth.
It's because she doesn't talk about things as if they are fun. She doesn't make things sound fun. She doesn't describe things in fun ways. Everything is realistic. Everything is 'real talk.' Nothing is embellished or exaggerated, nothing is left to the imagination. Everything is matter of fact, everything is down to earth and related in a common sense, no nonsense way. There is no attempt to make things unrealistic or over the top or entertaining. It's all 'serious business.' Kiara will get pissed off if chat gets the wrong idea or states things incorrectly and she will describe everything mundanely. She unintentionally undercuts and caveats everything with 'no, it wasn't as exciting as you're thinking, it was actually like this.'
The reason Kiara gets so many antis, why she filters people so hard, why she isn't popular, is all because of her commitment to 'keep things real' and to inform the viewers how things 'really are.' Nothing is left to the imagination. there is no magic. Kiara's need to be authentic and her cynicism is what undercuts everything and cripples the viewer experience.
