Schizo advent part 3
After a clear click, the door opened with ease from the outside. A tiny figure rushed in towards Shiori and hugged her tightly. It was a little girl no taller than 4 '7 ,with grayish hair almost as long as her height.
“SHIORI!!” The little girl yelled happily, letting go of Shiori.
“Hi biboo, are you okay?” Shiori asked worriedly, squatting down to meet her height.
“I’m fine, Shiori.”Biboo nodded, opening her arms showing her blood-covered outfit. She smiled with her mouth open wide, saying out loud. “ I’m the strongest of us all, after all. E-he.”
“Sure you are.” Shiori said as she checked Biboo’s body. Judging by the red splash I can see from my position, that blood was from the fools trying to stop her. There’s not a single stain of red on the back of her jumpsuit. “ That's why I can always count on my favorite.”
“E-he, I love you too Shiori.” Biboo blushed a little from the compliment, and widened her mouth more. She turned and pointed at me, staring curiously. “ Who’s this?”
“Oh he?” She thought for a moment. “Do you remember the stories of Novelknights and Inkwell castle I told you?”
“Yeah!” She answered with excitement. “Is he…”
“He’s a Page, Biboo” Shiori winked at me, gave me a mischievous smile and signaled me to play along. “But still brave enough to save his princess .”
“I…uh…” I tried to refute, but the dire situation made me yield. “…am a humble Page, here to save you.”
“Well, shall we go then, my Page.” Shiori said with leisure as we were going to a ball, walking into the corridor with Biboo holding her jacket , who was still looking at me with a fascinated smile.
Contrast to the peaceful room, the corridor was a hellscape. Those guards once stood the ground now laid lifeless with bullet shells surrounding them. The lieutenant sat in the corner with a hand holding his throat, his tactical vest and uniform was soaked with blood. His scared face stayed the same as his last moment, a mixture of shock and disbelief. The girls walked past the bodies unbothered, while I tried not to imagine what caused these battle hardened men to perish in terror. I couldn't help but keep looking back at the scarlet red glass shard lying at the entrance.
“ Professor ? Are you alright ?” Shiori’s voice spooked me out of my imagination, almost making me slip to the wet ground.
“I’m alright, I’m alright.” I took a deep breath, the smell of blood filled my lungs. I looked at Bib in oo who was way ahead of us, holding my urge to throw up. I asked hesitantly,
“Did you...What did you do to them, Biboo?”
“Oh!” She replied without hesitation, turning her pure face to us. “We had a lot of fun together. Those Pebbles are gooood, I nearly got hit several times. “
“This one made a funny scream, and this one tried to run away.” Biboo walked past several bodies, giving each one a review.
“Pebbles are tired so they’re sleeping now.” She said with a smaller voice, patting a dead guard’s head with care.
“They have to try harder next time, E-he.”
She gave me her default mouth opening smile, with a window wiping laughter out of pride. Her goofy laughter sent chills to me as it echoed through the whole corridor, making me gagged a little as I rested against the wall.
“Are you satisfied, professor?” Shiori whispered pitfully, waiting for me to follow up. “There are more surprises ahead, you better catch up.”
