Lately I've been eating- I've been a little bit better the past week, I've been cooking more, even today I mean, pasta I made pasta and salad.
I made one serving of the salad cause its fast, but I did make multiple servings of the pasta
And I understand, I hear you, pasta as leftovers, I used to be weirded out too, y'know, pasta is pretty fast to make but-
Leftover pasta is really not- its good if you heat it up on the stove, its fine.
Its weird? I don't know, I used to think that pasta gets weird- sometimes, cause it can like absorb the sauce a little and get soggy
But, I don't know, I like it these days. Maybe that's just because I don't want to cook pasta everyday.
Leftover sauce? Noodles always fresh? Yeah that's like the move, sometimes I do that.
I've been making my own pasta sauce lately. Cause I feel like marinara, jarred marinara sauce can be kind of weird sometimes
And its really easy to make your own and I feel fancy about it.
"Ooh I made it myself" although I don't even use fresh tomatoes, that's my secret (laugh)
But I use fresh garlic, fresh chopped garlic and then my nails smell like garlic forever and that's annoying but y'know...
[am chef]? Yes [canned tomato is the way] yeah there's that one brand its like really fancy what is it, San Marzano tomatoes or something
I don't get those though- I get the store brand. But its so yummy, I think the one that I make tastes better than the store bought jarred sauce.
[tomatoes have brands]? I guess its a variety from like Italy. Variety of tomato.
I do... I don't know see, I thought that I was on the side of like not meal prepping enough. (laugh) Because you know people are really into meal prepping and they will like prepare seven days of food all in three hours.
Which is very efficient, can save a lot of time by doing that, so I respect it.
But I do feel a little weird when leftovers get to the 7 day mark, maybe you freeze some of it?
But also, I don't know, I like to eat whatever I feel like eating on that day-
I used to go to the grocery store like four times a week, I no longer do that, but I used to go to the grocery store like four times a week (laugh)
It was kind of nice, I cooked way more back when I did that, I lived really close to a grocery store, like basically the grocery store was on my way to work so I would just stop by on my way home.
It was very convenient. And I miss doing that, 'cause I would be like "oh today... what do I want to eat, I want to eat this" so I would go to the grocery store and buy the ingredients.
Now I feel like I'm less inspired to cook because its like "oh I want to eat this but I don't have the ingredients and I don't want to go to the store"
So I guess I'll just eat a quesadilla instead.
Leftovers it is! Luckily I prepared many servings last time I cooked so I don't have to cook again!
15 minute quesadilla? That might be exaggerating it. I don't know, I mean you can make a quesadilla pretty fast
But that's assuming I don't put any veggies in it, which I should, it would be good with like bell peppers and onion.
You grill them a little bit, like fajita style veggies, but (laugh) too lazy.
Yeah you're right they're pretty much a grilled cheese.
Its like the child's diet, just different versions of carbs plus cheese
grilled cheese, quesadilla, mac and cheese... give me all of them, even like a pizza
