>>30383264Funny, I had thesame thought recently. There can be a bit more to it if you use it as an creative outlet or a way to socialize. I don't think chuubas are a bad hobby on its own and what matters is that you do something besides sitting around alone while watching videos.
When I started watching vtubers I restarted drawing and learned at least a few kanji and the hiragana alphabets. I didn't get very far in either venue but at least it felt like I was doing something worthwhile. And, more importantly, I could share it with other people. But I also spent way more time posting here. I don't think this place is inherently bad but a lot of time gets burned here getting into inconsequential arguments and FOMO loops.
I'd encourage you to just find something you can share with people. Doesn't hurt if it also makes you go outside. And don't sweat the details. You are not doing this so others think you're doing well, but so that yourself feel that way
