There's also coal mining, and transportation to consider, along wtih the accidents, equipment costs, and environmental damage THAT causes. Though it's also a factor that a lot of existing coal power plants are old as fuck, so we probably CAN modernize coal power plants to make things cleaner and safer, but doing so is a pain in the ass in and of itself.
Back to nuclear, most quotations for nuclear accidents are from freak incidents, gross negligence of safety protocol (which got tighter after the fact), from aging power plants, or some combination of the three. And also adding to the 'scare factor' is that the methods for fuel enrichment for power plants are similar/adaptable for use in nuclear weapons. There's the nonzero chance that some of the material earmarked for fuel "disappears" as it gets set aside for nuclear weapons development.
