My process has been just finding a thread in the catalog when I'm in a good set of circumstances to do some data entry for a few hours, go to the archive, look up their keywords and start tabulating the thread numbers and the number of posts in each thread for a running total of all their posts. The only time I ever did them otherwise was Nijien (because my initial starting point for this was to see if their thread accounted for the same amount of posts as were being discounted in that other anon's counting[it was, the majority of that percentage's flux is due to nijiEN existing and growing to be decently big and if you account for that, we're basically exactly where we were six months ago]) and the other EN2 girls because a hooman asked me to after I helped them fix their thread count by finding ones they had missed.
