Fans from each fanbase likely share at least some traits; it's no stretch of the mind to think that some like-minded individuals would share the same oshi. A shared interest in a topic, or, in this case, a holo, will inevitably lead to enthusiasts gravitating toward a central (or as central as possible, considering this site) discussion area. None of the 5 threads you mentioned belong to holoEN, and attempting relevant discussion in a holoEN-dominated thread can be futile & frustrating, the former especially true when it's been proven time and time again that /hlgg/ alone outpaces entire boards, including the quickest moving ones during certain events. So it's no surprise that these more insular communities prefer to create dedicated, slower threads relevant to their oshi/interest. These threads attract regulars sharing the same mindset, so each individual thread has a different feel to it. For the non-EN fans, as I can't speak for /west indies/, /vt-hlg/ is usually too slow and many posters don't want to return to /jp/ for whatever reasons they may have.
I occasionally do see posts stating 'the oshi reflects the fanbase' and/or vice versa. It's probably self-evident by now but Hoshiyomi are (in my biased opinion) characterized by the original essay cometbro.
How are the Haatons holding up?
