>>1896875No you dingus, you missed the entire point. I don't need a short history of the sterilization of the food industry to autofellate myself to the point where I'm fooled that somehow making my own sauce makes me an iconoclast against traditional gastronomy. I will admit that my way around the kitchen is often perfunctory in both its preparation and presentation, but I guarantee the way I do things will be more cherished and held close to the heart for my friends and family than whatever locally-sourced, in-house created gourmet 5 star dish a live-in chef could make. I'm not transcending the hoi molloi methods of traditional cooking, sure, whatever, that's not the point. The point is that you tried to make my counterpoint as reductive as "new thing bad, old thing good," an argument that is honestly more desultory than I expected from you. You're acting like I need to make food worthy of a fucking vernissage for it to be up to standard. Food is a window to the soul, and there is nothing wrong with quotidian, routine meals that remind you of better days. I'm not a caveman for thinking this, I'm fucking human. Being kept in a box be damned, I loved my childhood and I loved the food I ate growing up, and you bet your ass I will default on something already close to my heart.
