Generally speaking, I don't think people are turned away from 3D by physical appearances, but by unattractive personality traits: greed, entitlement, hypocrisy, you name it. A thot will be a thot, live2d or not. I'm sure you know where to find numerous examples of that.
Conversely, an attractive personality will remain so without an avatar. Case in point: Ghostlings. Just look at them fall harder the deeper they dig.
