spouse is bilingual, but whenever we go out, people address me directly, even after
she initiates the conversation in fluent Japanese. We've also had issues while looking for work, where recruitment agencies would find work for me (again, EOP) while saying she's not qualified for anything, despite living there for 5 years and speaking the language.
Japs are way more redpilled than conservative Americans could ever be.
