It's more like in the west, copyright is so fucked up that only music companies get to throw their weight around. Sometimes game music gets streams DMCA'ed, not the gameplay itself. It's either to do with how the laws are written, or western devs have the legal option themselves but we just have a different culture around it, so they don't try to jew out.
