Watch vods at 2x speed, limit yourself to 1 or 2 chuubas per timezone with an exception for big events.

Watch them when you feel like it and know that it's only for entertainment purposes. You don't have to follow them 24/7, they are only entertainers, not your friends or family.

I suggest you watch whatever you're in the mood for, rather than what you feel you HAVE to watch.
I'm going to be watching everything Erina puts out, and I really like Millie's ASMR. Pomu is usually doing good stuff, but not always. I rarely watch the holos, but those two have some talent that's worth checking out.

With just a little practice you can get used to watching video at a higher speed. Like anyone can with no issue at like 1.5 speed, but as you do it more you get used to like 3 or 4x after not long at all. If you can watch at 4x speed, you can catch up on vods you aren't able to see live. And just knowing you can do that makes it feel like less like you're missing out and makes the streams you can catch more fun.

Just watch whichever streams interest you the most. I do it with the chuubas I watch, if they're streaming something I don't care about like Apex, MHR, or Minecraft I'll instead watch someone streaming something I want to watch like DOOM, CoD, MHW, or Phasmo.

I dropped the big corpos early on. Because of the vtuber boom in 2020 I ended up with a lot IRL friends and acquaintances becoming vtubers or joining startups and I ended up staying with them and modding for a few to stay connected.
