from what i have heard the voice packs are usually a pretty big earner for the niji talents and the most hardcore and gachi fans love listening to them play out the little scenarios, so yeah i don't really get why hololive doesn't do them more regularly it seems like it would sell even better to the audience they attract than the one niji does, and it gives people who hate the concept of superchat a way to get something in return for their "donation" too

Voice packs honestly make a ton of sense for a global market since there are no shipping and almost no production costs, the only thing I don't like about them is that Niji for some reason only sells them for one month so you can't go back and get all the voicepacks of a talent you started watching or something like that, I have no idea why they would do that

HoloEN can’t succeed the same way as NijiEN *or* HoloJP, but NijiEN has done well despite having the same problem (having to differentiate themselves from HoloEN while not being able to rely on the same methods NijiJP used).
You basically have to figure out which parts to change and which parts to keep the same, and in that, HoloEN has arguably done a worse job than NijiEN.

The talents produce the merch by themselves, paying the people that they wanna work with and making the first idea, ofc management can give them recommendations, contacts, etc and it's regulated by them. So non of the girls want to do scripts and recordings and that shit for merch, they just go for what is gonna sell, like plushies, dakis, mousepads, for the "poorfags" keychains and some time there's some creative ideas

I’m an Idol Corp fan, but even I’ll concede that their job is easier than HoloEN. HoloEN opened the door for western vtubing, and small corpos started feasting when they shat the bed. All IdolEN has to do is do some marketing, paint themselves as “HoloEN but with competent management, unity, and no shitting on fans”, and they’ll recline.
HoloEN’s challenge is arguably harder. Everyone in the west who knows what vtubing is knows them. *They* have to expand into newer audiences.
In terms of shoring up the existing fanbase, Idol’s probably the best out of the small corpos. In terms of getting a new audience from non vtuber watchers, I think it’s actually Phase Connect, whose strategy seems to be to emulate vshojo without straying so far from vtubing’s roots that it feels nearly unrecognizable.

HoloEN should primarily be focused on retaining their audience and getting returning fans with QOL updates and new content.
If you keep your existing audience happy, word-of-mouth advertising will be very strong and get you new blood, and since Hololive has a big existing audience it makes more sense to focus on that.
Also, you really don't want a drastically different new audience because then you're juggling too many different factions and will struggle to keep them all happy.

What? Several ID members (Ollie,Zeta,Kaela) are not professional about it and as learned when Kronii asked they don't understand their chat. They were banning everybody who didn't go yesman about it which is one of the reasons why they barely had any viewers regardless of them speaking EN and ID until Moona sung high tide and kobo showed up.
Jp is the meta where the girls who do collab with the guys don't force it down their fans throats and don't coerce more girls to join in. While the guys don't actively antagonize management or the fans.

Thats really the problem for HoloEN isn't it. If they want to keep drastically growing their audience they need to reach out to people that wouldn't have considered watching then before. But the existing fanbase they have doesn't like the stuff they would need to do to reach that audience. So it's just kind of stuck stagnating while smaller competitors take chunks out of their market share by catering better to specific preferences.

NijiEN has guys like that too though. Shu Yamino that Ver guy from the new wave seems relatively normal too, Ren doesn't do anything weird I don't think but he hardly does anything at all. In terms of the audience there I think it really depends what you want to go for. If you pander to the Chinese you will get a lot of them watching you. You are right and I am not him but NijiEN is included in a lot of that stuff nowadays though. The Winter Date stuff was a JP merch initiative and it featured a bunch of EN members. The recent sponsored Mahjong tournament had EN members in it. The recent NJU and NijiFes had EN members in it. Original songs do basically come out every 3-5 months I guess for NijiEN with the debuts. A lot of the collabs in Japan include EN a lot of members have had collab cafes and famima collabs in Japan. The EN merch is sold in brick and mortar stores in Akihabara along with the NijiJP merchandise. When they had a Atre collab NijiEN members were plastered on the outside of the store aswell as JP.
