What do you want for a post Golden Week stream considering that it both has to be their "We're fully back and in the swing of things" and also an apology for the way they've handled stuff.

I want:

They didn't address a thing. There was clearly something in the mood early on but the details will remain a mystery. Frankly, I doubt that they'll address it.
They made their choice and the easiest way for them to deal with it is to reel back even further and push their relationship with us into a more surface level affair while hoping that the far more casual JOP fanbase will let them recoup the losses from that decision. They're clearly uncertain about the prospects, but like I said earlier, that's the battle plan they've chosen to try and make things work. Time will tell if it does.

...Yes, that is because they finally gave EN fans of Hololive an actual dedicated GFE-type, hard-working, fan-loving, super parasocial experience type vtuber.
EN fans have been starving for that kind of vtuber for literal years and they have had literally not a single outlet until now.
FWMC being the kings of revenue is all EN because they are the chuubas that let all the EN gachikoi types blow their years worth of collected loads on at once.
Also, as a side note, I really dislike how often people buy into the numbermonkies merch propoganda. Covers own fiscal report showed stream revenue(AKA SCs and Memberships) accounting for 37% of total revenue. And that's across ALL of Hololive- meaning that SC low/merch heavy holos like Suisei and Gura are tilting that figure heavily. Holos who have record numbers of SC regularly are the inverse of that trend. For them, SC is far and away a much larger portion of their overall income. And that's just one that we saw happen on stream.
Think of the ones that happen off-stream, when they aren't trying to keep themselves together.
You either believe their words that their fans and their thoughts matter to them, or you don't.
Whether you post it or not is the difference between whether you truly trust them or not. And a relationship without trust is doomed anyway.

Just...make sure you don't hide your feelings, but don't let them drive your words into making you say things you don't mean or things that are unnecessary. The truth doesn't need to be a fight or an insult, after all.

Unfortunately that doesn't refute my point because until recently they were the literal #1 SC earner for several months in a row. If we look at the breakdown of 37% vs IIRC 53% with merch, #1 of 37% is probably going to win out over ~#10 of 53%.
Not to mention, Hololyzer shows how hilariously EN-sided SC is, whereas there is no reason to believe that merch sales are tilted towards nips, and even if they are, they certainly couldn't be tilted to as extreme a degree as SC is.
Essentially, there is simply no realistic reason to believe that JOPs provide a dramatic portion of their overall revenue. If they did there would be some kind of demonstration of such a thing to be found somewhere, but as others have pointed out, any actual digging into correlating sales with their respective regions shows EOPs being by far the most visible 'customers'.

Yes, by a factor of roughly 15% or so more.
As a toddler-tier math demonstration, Cover basically showed us that should they earn $100, $37 of that is SC and 53% of that is from merch.
But that is across ALL holos. It the total SC earned from ALL holos, and the total revenue earned from merch by ALL holos.
Now consider just two holos: Suisei and Gura. Their merch sales get added to the merch total. Those two earn a LOT of merch money. They also earn almost no SC money. Essentially, they are 'outliers'; their financials are of course relevant for Cover, but in the case where we're considering one specific Holo, we have to account for the fact that Covers overall financial report stats are going to be biased because of such 'outliers'.
Now normally one would expect that outliers like those two would be balanced out by outliers in the other direction...ever since roughly the second quarter of 2022, SC revenue has been on a stable recline. There are more merch outliers, essentially. Most holos tend to be pretty even-handed on both fronts overall.
FWMC came into the scene as not just one of, but blew up into THE biggest SC 'outlier' in Hololive. Though the report happened before they came in.
Basically, Fuwamoco are massive money makers in all capacities, but for various reasons, their SC earnings blew up beyond what anybody could have even dreamed of. They surpassed literally everybody, and not by just a little bit either, but to the point of earning nearly as much in SC than the #2 and #3 SC earners earned in SC COMBINED.
They are, or at least were, SC queens, to an extent that Hololive hadn't seen before in literally years.

If you know where to look and have the technical know-how to scrape various places, go ahead and run an experiment I myself did:
Scrape FWMCs 'mindshare' on nip-based sources from just before their announcing their move.
Then give it a gap of a month and scrape the same info from that point onwards until now.
The depressing reality of all of this is that their popularity and 'mindshare' in Japan prior to them actually aiming for it was an order of magnitude higher before. And if you know how to use those github AI tone analyzers, you can run it on both datasets as well to see something even sadder; Japanese opinions about them back then were significantly more positive than they are now. The "FWMC abandoned their EOP fans" premise has even started showing up in Japanese discussion on rare occasions, since they do occasionally crosspost commentary from English sites, including this one.
Of course, this does make some sense given that a lot of this was "setting up" to catch their attention afterwards, but even given that, the difference between the two time periods is a little foreboding. It's the negativity especially that is the most dangerous thing. People underestimate how rare and valuable almost unanimously positive reputation is to have. Being untainted by negative sentiments does wonders for opening doors to new fans. But that might not be an advantage they can leverage anymore.

There are some pretty bad comments in the VOD, but there are some genuine ones voicing their worry which is fine. Well a lot of it comes from FWMC being too vague about what their future post-GW will look like. To some, they basically said "we're doing weekly JPO streams now!!" to others, they basically just said they'll be doing JP collabs and MAYBE a solo every now and then(which could mean monthly, but nothing set in stone)
They just weren't clear, that's all.

This is honestly what hurts the most. Actually, let me phrase it this way, maybe this will make it make sense: if FWMC doubled the previous SC king of Hololive and STILL ended up making more money from merch, then it simply wouldn't make sense for SC to only be 15% less of a portion of the overall revenue(mind you, it was more than a third of overall revenue even in spite of that).
The only way that you can reconcile FWMCs astronomical SC with Covers report showing us that merch had only a lukewarm advantage over SC in aggregate, is if there were Hololive members out there who were pulling massive weight in the SC department while being complete slouches in merch. And we don't see that phenomenon present anywhere. The premise falls apart based on that alone.

They've always said they love us and they ARE satisfied with what they have. I believe them 100%. The FACT is that they need 1 milly subs to achieve everything they want to do, and they cannot do that in a timely fashion unless they use their skillset reach out to the JP fans.
It's a Japanese company, which means there will ALWAYS be way more for the JP fans than the NA fans. It's just a grim reality, and FuwaMoco understand this quite well. This is a part of the reason they fucking cried so much yesterday and STILL feel depressed now. It's cause they know that, yes, people will be disappointed and sad. That's a reality that's unavoidable, but this is something they HAVE to do.
They literally said they'd been avoiding doing JP streams and taking certain opportunities due to this and it frustrated mane-chan.

What exactly do they expect to gain from streaming one week partially or fully in JP and then just 'increasing' the amount of collabs and solo JP streams afterwards?
Realistically speaking, how many EN streams would it take for (you) to actually start caring about that hypothetical JPholo?
Maybe I'm just being demanding but I don't know if I'd be happy with 2 streams each week if there are a bunch of other holos I can watch every day. Would probably sub though.
So if that's the only thing they care for it might work out fine.
Ether way if they do more JP primetime streams I might actually not be stuck constantly watching vods.

they were probably hoping for a mass wave of approval and understanding and got met with a lot of what they feared. I can't help the way I feel on the matter, but it makes me feel bad for them regardless. I don't want them to be sad.

JP subs, I imagine. They directly talked about all of this when they talked about their 1 million sub goal, so it's obvious THIS is the reason they're doing it.
