>>75266478>Madoka is just edgykys faggot for something to be just edgy it has to have shocking or mature content just for its own sake and not intergrated well into the story or its themes; Madoka is not like this so it isn't 'just edgy' it's dark
>It would require Madoka to be a deconstruction in the first placewhile most people who say Madoka is a deconstruction are retarded for the reasons you mentioned, people who say it isn't a deconstruction are also retarded because they don't understand why it is a deconstruction/what it's actually deconstructing
Madoka isn't a deconstruction because 'it's magical girl but dark/the magical girls suffer and die' but because it deconstructs the premise and tropes of the genre itself - what it means to be a magical girl (however in doing so it also reconstructs what being a magical girl means; most deconstructions end up being reconstructions anyway, like how EVA is to mecha)
in a normal magical girl show the premise is that a magical girl is a (usually middle school girl) with magic powers fighting some threat for good while being guided by a benevolent mascot character - Madoka is a deconstruction because it goes 'but what if each of these parts of the premise were all sinister actually, what if the mascot is a manipulator and they're fighting for good but for amoral utilitarian reasons' and then questions 'what does being a magical girl really mean in light of this'
all Madoka clones fail to understand this last point hence why they end up just being edgy
