>>7583800I just love the setting, technically the genre is called "dying earth", far far into the future after civilization went through many eras in which humans reached crazy shit like FTL and stuff, they suffered some sort of entropy that led them back towards something similar to medieval life (though some military guys had soundwave based weaponry)
The plot is about about the coming of age of a journeyman from the guild of seekers for truth and penitence, basically torturers, and he's been cast off his guild, because he showed mercy to a customer (person to be tortured), so yeah it's kind of a post-sci fi setting in which the Sun is dying too, and there are plenty of magical elements which makes you wonder if its actually magic or just a highly advanced form of current tech.
The beginning which I spoiled about 20 pages or so might be a bit slow but once the ball starts rolling I doubt you'll be able to stop it, also keep your eyes wide open because the author likes to fuck with you.
