>>2810400I'm glad to be of service. People need to learn and accept that at the end of the day, it's all just fiction, and fiction has multiple facets that you can take however you choose. Just because something doesn't go the way you expected doesn't mean it somehow invalidates all the good and happiness it's brought you otherwise. Does this really make any joy and affection I had for her any less genuine? Does it make her any less of a sweetheart now? Does it make her any less deserving of love? Does her right to personal happiness end where mine begins? I wouldn’t think so; I think she’s worth it. And, yeah, this is ultimately all over a video game character, but if it matters to you and has an effect on your happiness, maybe these questions are worth being asked.
Just going through life in the world today can be a stressful experience, and some people have trouble being happy. If you find something that makes you happy, and it’s not hurting anyone, it’s worth holding onto.
For my own two cents, she’s not just my waifu, she’s also my favorite character in general, and I’m happy for her. The last time we saw her, things really weren’t going so well for her. And it was a long wait between then and now, so seeing her happy and doing well is something I appreciate more than anything.
>>2810512Such is love, however immaterial it sometimes may be. This may sound a bit like backhanded reassurance, but since she’s a fictional character, you technically don’t stand any LESS of a chance with her now. If you want my perspective, I made the decision long ago that if she were real and it came down to it, I would not mind being friend-zoned by her. Because, even if she didn’t love me, she’s still a wonderful person and would be a great friend. She’s the type who would support you, cheer for you and be there whenever you needed her, and I could easily be happy with that. Platonic affection is precious, too.
