In my experience, con sex is def a thing, but it usually sucks. Usually people that go to cons are there with 5+ other people in a tiny ass room. So if you're going to have sex, neither of you can host. So you either have to get to the room while no one else is there, which is usually early in the day, then usually get walked in on. Or, you have to find a restroom or one of your cars, which also sucks. Not to mention, cosplaying helps, and if you or them are cosplaying as something slightly difficult, you risk ruining your cosplay.
In general, going to cons for sex sucks. Doesn't stop me from doing it, though.....
