>>4226487Story time, I built this case in like 2005 when West Coast Choppers was a thing, and I had just finished a build on something called a Schwinn Spoiler which is a chopper bicycle with a springer front end it's actually pretty cool. I had modified mine with a 3 speed hub and a jockey shift on the back. Well I wanted to do a themed computer case for it since that was all the rage and I was on
Pimprig.com which is long defunct now.
I did all of the cuts in one day and then fabbed the windows the next day and cut all the fans in using a freehand Dremel tool. I did this in an electronics surplus warehouse I worked for and I was their only PC repair tech so I had free range and basically made up my own schedule and had full access to whatever I wanted in the store. I built the case in like 3 days and moved an Athlon 64 X2 5600 originally into it, before the Xeon setup fell into my hands.
The owner of the company thought it was cool as all hell and wanted me to display it in the store, right up until the owner's wife walked in and thought it was the Nazi Iron Cross and I had to explain to her what it was really about lol. It made the rounds at LAN parties and I hosted a lot of games on it.
I've been doing case modding for a while, this was my first build I did in my senior year of high school with the original hardware still in it. It's an Athlon 1200 and originally it had a 3dfx Voodoo 5500 and the case was themed Short Circuit I hand-painted circuit board traces all over it. I plan on revisiting this mod, probably with the next Threadripper I build when I come off the road.
