no but anons on /toy/ are the types to really dislike funkos because they're worse than what they collect (TFs, anime figures, hasbro 6 inch, coomer, model kits etc) so of course they're all gonna spam and take joy in Funko dying, Funko are for the basic nerd that at most buys some lego, maybe buys a Star Wars Black Series if they like Star Wars but generally just get Funkos because they're cheap and their local comic store probably has 3 walls full of them gathering dust

You can consider Bricklink to be the baseline. Sets on there are pretty consistently priced and don't fluctuate a whole lot, mostly due to the fact that listings for each set are all displayed together and sellers have to compete for theirs to show up at the top (if you've ever used Steam Marketplace you're probably familiar with how this works). eBay on the other hand is a lot more random; prices will on average be higher than Bricklink but occasionally things will pop up for super cheap. So it's really a matter of whether or not you're willing to play the game of waiting for a good deal on eBay or just biting the bullet and paying whatever Bricklink says it's valued at.

From what I see in that manual, the pieces come color-separated in the sprues but google images show the unboxed product as a fully white body. Don't use paint NOT made FOR models on models because you never know if it uses plastic-melting solvents, especially if it's meant to be used on metal car parts. To get a glossy, smooth finish you're gonna need to airbrush it which is a hobby in and of itself with how fiddly it is. I wouldn't suggest hand-painting the body with brushes and miniature paint unless you know what you're doing and won't leave brush marks on it.

The problem with many imports of licensed IP is that the figures are re-releases and at most new releases of the same characters.
There's no variety in, for example, Spider-Man, until a new movie comes out. Then we get the same SM for the next few years until they reboot the movies.

Might depend on the kid but yeah, boxes or paper bags made into mask are proven winners. Anything that gets them away from a screen, give them a spoon and let them dig in yard if you can and youd obviously have to watch them if they were digging. I used to play with my dads wire nuts since they looked like space ships.
