Why do people collect action figures and leave them in the box? They have articulation and accessories and features that are meant to be interacted with. Just get a statue if want something to look at. Is it a speculation thing?

Now that the line is dead without any hopes of returning (for the 6th time) what does everyone think of it?

I personally still love them. I played the actual game (the very first one) as a kid and have fond memories. I still own some and even bought some of the most recent ones to keep on my desk as fidget toys. Something about seeing it open up tickles my brain the right way. My favourite designs are still Gen 1. They're simple, iconic and recognisable. With all the companies and toylines doing nostalgia reboots I wish Bakugan got one like that as well, but from what I understand those designs are stuck in copyright limbo because of Sega. The later reboots tried way too many different things that didn't fit, I'm not a fan of the more complicated designs.

Is Mega dead? Is Mattel Brick Shop replacing it? Are we getting more sets? Did Lego kill Mega for good? Who knows! Let's find out!

Theyre selling bootleg spin master DC figures at five below now

The Kirby is very sticky. Is there any way to counteract that? It's made of that faux-rubber stuff that becomes mush if you leave it in its packaging forever.

Also in completely unrelated matters: do you have any suggestions on how to convert the Astro to a Christmas ornament? I have another one I intend to do that with. I was thinking of using the mounting peg somehow but I'm not sure if I can find something that will fit in there that will also work to let me hang it from a tree.

Am I doing something wrong, or is the quality of plastic from figures these days becoming much more temperamental and less stable than the plastic from things that are like 20+ years old.

I have figures that are from the early 2000's that don't have any, or barely any signs of tacky/stickiness from plasticizers or deterioration. Maybe it's the paint/finish that's causing it too, I don't know. But most figures that I've gotten within the 2010's+ seem to develop this issue within 5 or so years. Every single one of my Bandai figures, Street Fighter, Dragon Ball, any of their accessory packs all have it and it's definitely worse on anything that uses soft plastic. I have the OG Vashe the Stampede from Revoltech that doesn't have any whatsoever, but my OG AY spider-man has it. Even my AY Venom/Carnage have the sticky/tacky feeling to them. I also notice that this doesn't seem to happen as much with any of the PVC statues I have either. I have an old DBZ Banpresto from 2009 that has no stickiness to it either.

I have a central A/C unit in my house, so it's not like it gets to sweltering temperatures in here in the 2 months of summer. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this just the new nature of the beast for new-age action figures? What can I do to extend the life of my figures?

Robot toys discussion and pictures here
The last robot damashii thread has died a couple days ago and no new one has been made. MRD Lupus Rex is getting a retail re-release (april 2026), pre orders sold out insanely fast. I'm assuming it has better tolerances than its first run. MRD Marchosias was teased too.
