I think it would be even better because LEGO, maybe, could produce the sticker sets indefinitely. So we'd always have access to minifugres faces and old sets printed pieces.
It's also illegal for use a sticker over multiple pieces now. So that wouldn't happen again.

Using stickers with a service that would guarantee its printing forever would be great, better than printing, I guess.
