We could have had the PSS and O-Powers, we could have had games that at most only required 1 HM to complete with the rest being completely optional, we could have had one centralized gimmick that spans across all of the newer generations instead of multiple shitty little ones that are meant to die.
Say what you want, but even if people shit talked Masuda's magnum opus in BW, Gen 6 still took inspiration from Gen 5 and tried to put things to the benefit of the player. Pokemon after ORAS is nothing but a soulless husk of what could have been where the hype seasons for Gens 7 and 8 ended up being the only memorable and quality part.
