The issue isn't cheating, it's it's you're making those altered parameters affect others that you're being an ass.
If you want to use a Huge Power Slaking on cart knock yourself out, but taking it online like madmen in XY did before GF realised they could make and enforce rules and regulations for online play is where you become a dickhead.
As far as VGC is concerned you're playing for prestige. If you want me to consider you a world champion, the least you could do is actually play the game you're champion of, no matter how asinine.
