No because it's still the SM/PM team. From the PV we saw the animation style and it's just PM2.0 with new protagonists. It doesn't change the fact that they'll do "hub world" 3.0 with the school and the actual travelling aspect of Pokemon will be destroyed once again.

Most of them left after XY ended and the rest mostly left as SM and PM went on. In fact, I distinctly remember when Serena's return episode happened there were multiple people here posting about what happened since XY ended or where to watch the stream, showing that they hadn't been on /padt/ in years at that point.

I can't believe /padt/ (including the hype threads) are turning 10 this year. I still clearly remember the early days of the hype threads, including XY's premiere and stuff related to that. I've seen the highs and lows of the anime since then, and I've seen the threads go from XY to SM to PM and now MPM plus the new series. It all feels surreal that I've been in the threads since the very beginning and this year will be the 10th anniversary of the beginning.

Because Ash travels to every region in this series instead of focusing on one region. It was a good setting but got ruined because the writer's bet everything on his friendship with Goh instead of building a better cast.

One thing I noticed about the series was that there were tons of people who dropped the anime after XY ended, especially among people who really liked XY. Some gave SM a chance and dropped it early on, but many never even gave it a chance. You never saw the same during the SM-PM transition: most people who watched SM continued on to PM regardless if they liked SM or not. In fact, I can't even think of any other series where there was a dropping among fans between series except maybe OS-AG. Drops between DP-BW and BW-XY were not a thing to my recollection, for one.

Didn't it ever occur to OLM that PM series would have more popular if they gather majority of the Original cast (Ash, Brock, Misty, Gary Team Rocket Trio, Dawn, Cilan) on Vermilion city. Brock and Misty lives nearby enough to regularly visit Ash, Dawn could have been a third research fellow, Cilan could open his own Connoisseur cafe on Vermilion city, Pokemon could have pulled off the best SOL with a cast like this.

There are better idea for character but they completely ignore it to push the same Archetype that didn't work the last time. Even the game has introduce many interesting character that PM could have used such as Janine, Benga, Yancy, Bede, Marnie, Peony, Sabrina, but the anime completely ignore it.
